Behavior Consultations

“[Tanja] taught us specific strategies and techniques, and we practiced our new skills as we walked Mac [our 5-year-old border collie mix with some reactivity towards other dogs] past her well-behaved dog. We feel so much more confident as we continue to train our dog, and we are so grateful. Plus, Mac just loved her!”

Sometimes you just need a helping hand. Behavior consultations address a wide range of behavior problems, including inappropriate jumping, leash-pulling, play biting, reactivity, resource guarding, and separation anxiety.

Trainer Tanja Owe, who has an M.S. in Companion Animal Behavior Analysis & Counseling, uses a science-based approach to modify problem behavior. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) involves identifying the function of the behavior.  It also involves identifying and modifying the antecedents (i.e. triggers), environment, and/or consequences that help maintain that behavior.

Consultations, which involve one-on-one training, can take place in the classroom, in a local park, or in your home.  Consultations are $100 and include:

  • 2 one-on-one sessions (60 minutes each);

  • written recommendations; and

  • long-term email support.

Complete the below form if and only if you (1) have registered for a consultation and (2) are seeking a consultation for reactivity.
